What happens is I leave the text boxes blank on my card?
If you leave the name box blank, we simply don't print anything. Your card will just have the standard greeting shown in the example such as 'Happy Birthday' 'Good Luck' or whatever the greeting on the example image shows.

Can I add an age on the birthday card?
You choose any text for any of our cards, if you would like us to add an age or number to any birthday card that's no problem simply tell us what number you would like, and where on the card you would like it to appear. Some of examples already have an age showing, if you need a different number simply type it into the box along with your other details and we will change this for you.

What if I want the inside blank to write myself??
If you would like to write the card yourself, leave the inside text box blank and we will send the card blank.

You have the perfect card but I need it for a different occasion?
We can change or remove the greeting on all our cards so that it suits your occasion. simply use the personalised text boxes at checkout to write what you want the card to say. So, in this instance write 'Happy Anniversary ........' in the name box and we will print this instead of the greeting in the example.

Do you print exactly as I type in the box?
Usually yes. We will space the text as we see fit if you haven't already done so and may correct an obvious spelling mistake such as 'Birthday' if you’re lucky enough that we spot it but the responsibility for checking spelling and grammar ultimately lies with you. If we miss a spelling mistake you made, we will not refund the order.

When to Send Out Your Invitations

For a formal party, send invitations six to eight weeks before the event, you may even consider sending out save the date cards prior to the invites if the event is more than a month or two away. For a more informal affair, send invitations two to three weeks prior to the celebration to give everyone on your guest list plenty of time to prepare for the festivities.

What to Include in an Invitation

Depending on the occasion you may want to word the invitations extremely formerly, starting with something like ‘You are cordially invited’ for a work or black tie event, or if it is a party for family and friends you might consider something less formal and more informative.

Invitation Text: Include a short phrase inviting your friends and family to the event. Something like “You’re invited to” or “Sarah would love you to join her to celebrate”

A Description of the Occasion: Briefly explain the purpose of the invitation and what the event is about, for example “Anna’s 30th Birthday party” or “Jamie's Fancy Dress Disco”

The Date and Time: List the day and date of the party, followed by the time. You may want to add a finish time if your venue has closing restrictions or for a child’s party where the parents will need to know when to collect their child

The Venue: If the party venue has a name (e.g. Barneys Playplace), include it on the invitation along with the address, you may want to shorten the address to the street name and postcode to preserve the look for your invites. For large scale events where people may be travelling to your venue, it may be helpful to include a map or a sat nav postcode.

Other Instructions: You may need to add that it is fancy dress or that you want your guest to bring a bottle or maybe they need to bring their swimming kit for a pool party or you need to let your guests know that it is formal attire – add these additional pieces of information towards the bottom of your invitation.

RSVP: RSVP An abbreviation of the French request, "répondez s'il vous plait" Here is the place to let your guests know the best way of contacting you to let you know if they can attend or not. You may want to add just a phone number for a kid's party so that parents can text their RSVP’s or you may need written confirmation along with additional info such as meal choice.

You want your wedding invitation to give the right impression of your big day. It's the first glimpse your guests will get into your chosen theme, style and colouring. Are you having a large formal wedding or a small knees up in your local with your nearest and dearest? You want your invitation to reflect you as a couple and the flavour of your big day so deciding how to word your wedding invites can be trickier than you first imagined.
On top of injecting personality into your wedding invitations, you need to think who you want them addressed by? Would you and your fiance like to personally invite your guests or follow tradition and have your parents send out the invitations and invite your guests on your behalf?
Are you inviting all of your guests to the ceremony and reception, or will you need separate day time and evening wedding invitations?
You also need to consider the design of the invitations you are ordering and how much space you have to layout your text. Typically, the more text and information you include on your invitation, the smaller the font will get. This is where separate RSVP cards, money poems and the like come into their own.
To help you we have devised some examples of wedding invitation wording and layouts below that you may find handy as a guide.
Remember to include the vital pieces of information such as names, date, time, venues and how to RSVP.
